Production Designer Website
Cinematic. Professional. Portfolio-first.
Niki needed a website that would clearly showcase her work to prospective production companies while feeling confident, refined, and aligned with industry expectations.
The site was already in progress in Squarespace, but required expert refinement to resolve layout, interaction, and presentation details—and to bring cohesion to both the website and her broader visual identity.
The goal was to complete and elevate the site into a polished professional portfolio that allows production teams to assess her work quickly, clearly, and without distraction.
The Approach
This project focused on clarity, visual hierarchy, and professional presentation. Completed as a Design Day Intensive, the work concentrated on high-impact refinements rather than a full rebuild.
The site was refined within Squarespace, with custom styling and interaction work used to elevate the experience while keeping the site easy to maintain long-term.
Structure & User Experience
The website was designed to function first and foremost as a visual portfolio, allowing production companies to scan work efficiently while still accessing context and credits when needed.
Navigation is minimal and intuitive, keeping attention on the projects themselves rather than the interface. The structure supports quick review—an essential requirement in production environments.
Visual Direction
Alongside the website refinement, the Design Day included a focused update to Niki’s visual identity to ensure consistency across digital and professional materials.
A vintage-inspired colour palette was developed to reflect warmth, texture, and a cinematic sensibility
A cohesive font system was selected and applied across the site to establish hierarchy and consistency
Niki’s logo was refined and rebuilt, then exported in professional formats so it can be used confidently on invoices and other business documents
These updates ensure the site and offline materials feel aligned, intentional, and production-ready.
Website Design & Build
The site was refined in Squarespace using custom layout adjustments and CSS enhancements to elevate both form and function.
Key design considerations included:
Clear visual hierarchy for fast scanning
Typography tuned for readability and professionalism
Consistent brand application across all sections
Interactions designed to support, not distract from, the work
All updates were implemented with simplicity and maintainability in mind.
